Torah scrolls stolen in Mill Hill

On late Wednesday afternoon a grey metal cabinet was stolen from the Mill Hill home of Rabbi Dr Jackie Tabick and Rabbi Larry Tabick.

The cabinet contained two Torah scrolls that belong to the Shir Hayim Reform community in Hampstead.

Rabbi Jackie said: “We imagine that the thieves will have been most disappointed when they opened the cabinet. No  jewellery, just two scrolls. And we assume that they probably have thrown away the cabinet and the scrolls”.

Police are encouraging people to look out for the scrolls which may have been discarded in the local area. One scroll had a blue mantle, the other red, both with gold embroidered Hebrew letters.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of the scrolls they are encouraged to contact the local police on the 101 non-emergency number.
