The Young Ones at EHRS
On Sunday 18 August, 26 babies and toddlers from 15 families came to Edgware and Hendon Reform Synagogue for our first “Tea and Tots” event. This event is part of the synagogue’s commitment to young families, for the past two weeks we ran a summer camp for 3-5 years olds. Tea and Tots was primarily for a younger age group with their parents and grandparents. They enjoyed a PJ Library reading corner, craft corner making clay hamsas and fridge magnets, Jewish song and parachute games, and a delicious healthy food tea. Rabbi Mark Goldsmith said: “It is so lovely when the synagogue is filled with the sound of young voices. New friendships were made and old ones cemented. We are looking forward to our next event, Kuddle-Up-Shabbat in a couple of weeks’ time, a special Erev Shabbat service for the very young.”
