Blackpool Reform Jewish Congregation

About Us

Blackpool

Blackpool Reform Jewish Congregation is a warm, friendly and welcoming community. The first meeting in Blackpool of a non-orthodox Jewish Congregation took place at a Methodist Church Hall in Raikes Parade, Blackpool on the 9 November 1947.

At first the Community decided to come under the auspices of Liberal Judaism The community grew and prospered and, over the subsequent decade and a half, it transferred to come under the auspices of Reform Judaism, moved to a new and its present building, a short way down Raikes Parade, and its present rabbi, Rabbi Norman Zalud, started to take services.  Blackpool is part of the Northern Network of Reform synagogues and in November 2014 was pleased to host a very successful Northern Communities Day when we were joined by synagogue members from all over the North of England.
