Statement on the passing of the Nationality and Borders Bill

The Nationality and Borders Bill passed into law this week but the Movement for Reform Judaism will continue to voice our strong disapproval. We believe the new law will punish those fleeing persecution rather than support them. In living memory so many of our own families sought refuge here in the UK that we feel compelled to make our voice heard. The fact that the Bill was approved on the same day as Yom HaShoah merely added to our bitter disappointment.
