Southend Reform Celebrates Simchat Torah

Southend and District Reform Synagogue celebrated Simchat Torah, with the traditional parading of Sefer Torah scrolls, while joyously dancing and singing Hebrew songs.

The service was led by Rabbi Warren Elf, who bestowed the honours of Chatan Torah and Kallat B’reishit to David Perry and Fern Potter, for their outstanding work for the Synagogue, and community.

Children received a special blessing by the Rabbi, and gifts of goody-bags.

The service was followed by a fine kiddush provided by the Shul Guild, that included home-baked cakes, which were enjoyed by the beautiful and fragrant succah.
