Sinai’s Oy Factor

Sinai's Oy FactorSinai Synagogue’s annual Oy! Factor, organised by youth leader Rhiannon Humphreys, was enjoyed by all.

This year’s talented contributors entertained the audience with a wide range of music, from 5-7 year old pupils of Sinai’s Religion School singing ‘Kehillah Kedosha’ to Rachel Kempner and Leah Melcher singing ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ to original songs from Nick and Robert Dyson and from Paul Appleson, which had their premier at the event.

Judges Julius Judah, Sinai’s previous youth leader, who had travelled from his home in London especially to judge the event, Evie Appleson and Janet Narodetsky added to the entertainment www.aldaorg.net with their comments.

Director of Education Gwynneth Lewis said; “Such a fantastic evening of home grown talent at Sinai’s Oy Factor. From the Sinai Religion School choir, ably led by Rachel Kempner and Leah Melcher, to Paul Appleson’s insightful and funny song about conversion, to Shanny Epstein’s wonderful violin repertoire, Sinai proved this evening what a wide range of talent we have.

“Many thanks have to go to Youth Worker Rhiannon Humphreys for organising the evening and to Simon Marcus for providing the sound system, and very special thanks to the judges Janet Narodetsky, Evie Appleson and Julius Judah”.
