Simcha at Sinai

Sinai Synagogue Leeds hosted the final celebration of its 70th anniversary year with an all singing all dancing simcha. Almost 100 Sinai members and friends enjoyed a delicious three course meal prepared by a team of volunteers led by member Petra Mullen, who commented: “Thanks to Miriam, Huw, Lorna, Liz and the fabulous waitresses Cindy and Co. A great team to work with to make dinner for so many people!”

Sinai’s Chair, Elsje Prins, said: “What an evening we had. A beautiful venue, gorgeous decorations, brilliant meal, a relaxed and happy community, and a stunningly beautiful 70th anniversary brochure. We really are  a ‘can do’ community. Thanks to all our volunteers who made it happen. You are an amazing force.” Team leader Ruth Nutter added: “It was a fantastic evening.”

Carol Adams, who coordinated Sinai’s series of Platinum Anniversary events said: “We are so delighted that the Platinum Anniversary celebrations, which started almost exactly a year ago with the induction of Rabbi Esther Hugenholtz, are ending on a real high with the Simcha at Sinai and the Platinum Anniversary brochure which celebrates Sinai’s 70 years. My thanks to all our members, from the youngest to the oldest, who have helped to make our anniversary year so very special. May we go from strength to strength.”
