Reform members recognised in New Year’s Honours

Mazal tov to Rob Behrens of Radlett Reform Synagogue, Jeffrey Brownhut of Sinai Synagogue, David Ereira of Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue), Dr Simon Henig of Newcastle Reform Synagogue and David Shalit of West London Synagogue who were all recognised in the 2016 New Year’s Honours List.

Rob Behrens has been made a CBE for services to higher education. He is Chief Executive and Independent Adjudicator for the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education.
Jeffrey Brownhut has been made an MBE for services to the leisure and tourism industry in Northern Ireland.

David Ereira has been made an OBE for services to the insolvency regime and to charity. He chairs the Insolvency Service and is vice chairman of trustees for Marie Curie.
Dr Simon Henig has been made a CBE in the New Year’s honours list for political and public service as both Principal Lecturer in Politics at Sunderland University and Labour Leader of Durham County Council.

David Shalit has been made an MBE for services to the City of London and older people. He is a retired chartered accountant.
