Reform Judaism marks Remembrance Day

Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, Senior Rabbi to Reform Judaism, joined other religious leaders at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.

Rabbi Janner-Klausner said: “It was an honour to represent Reform Judaism at this most solemn and moving ceremony at the heart of British life. We remember the immense sacrifice made by those who gave their lives in the service of our country; may they be at peace in their place of rest and may we strive to avoid conflict and war, now and in the future”.

Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers, Reform Judaism’s Community Educator represented Reform Judaism at London’s City Hall’s Annual Service of Remembrance.

Rabbi Young-Somers said: I was privileged to join the Mayor of London’s Remembrance service at City Hall, where we honoured the many citizens who had made the ultimate sacrifice in war. I offered Reform Judaism’s Memorial Prayer alongside representatives of the Muslim, Sikh and Hindu community, and was humbled to be able to represent Reform Judaism at such a moving ceremony”.
