Radlett Rabbi part of new Empowering Voices podcast series

Rabbi DY SternRadlett Reform Synagogue’s Rabbi David-Yehuda Stern (pictured left) has played a key role in the new Empowering Voices, Exploring Worldviews podcast.

The series, which is aimed at children, explores different faith worldviews and is produced by the Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education and The Shooting Fish Theatre Company.

Rabbi DY acted as a consultant and scriptwriter for the Exploring Jewish Worldviews show. He also features prominently in the recording alongside Anna Silver, the Board of Deputies’ Education Officer, Rabbi Alan Garber of Shenley United Jewish Community and pupils from Shenley Primary School.

Each Empowering Voices episode features a conversion, soundscape, education pack and a play.

For the Judaism show, the play – titled Unforgettable Shabbat – follows the story of Naomi and Ruth, two Jewish friends preparing for their Shabbat celebration. It explores the themes of friendship, family dynamics and Jewish identity as the girls – through a series of events and misunderstandings – learn the importance of acceptance and the true meaning of Shabbat.
