Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner on the Manchester terror attack

Our hearts and souls, our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by Monday night’s attack in Manchester.

Together we mourn the innocent people, so many of them children, who have died. We send prayers of healing and consolation to those injured.

Manchester is a vibrant, creative, diverse and resilient city. I have always been touched by the warmth, sincerity and spirit of solidarity of our three Reform communities there. This spirit, which has been so apparent in how the people of the city and wider region have responded, is more important than ever.

We must respond to hate with love and gentleness and to attempts to divide with unity, remaining true to our values. May the One who brings peace in the highest, bring peace to us and to all Israel and to the whole world.
