MRJ@ The Israeli Embassy

Amit Handelsman, Director of Community Partnership at MRJ, arranged a meeting for representatives of our communities to meet Oren Marmorstein, Deputy Ambassador and Efrat Peri, Director of Public Diplomacy. This is the beginning of a series of conversations between the Israeli Embassy and the Reform Movement to bring all our communities closer to Israel. As Rabbi Mark Goldsmith put it it was “an opportunity to recognise that to be a Zionist can mean to argue with Israel as much as to hug Israel.” Amit was joined by Rabbi Josh Levy (Alyth), Cantor Zoe Jacobs (FRS), Rabbi Mark Goldsmith (EHRS) and Rabbi Adrian Schell (Wimbledon). Unfortunately the train strike prevented colleagues from outside London attending.
