Estate Manager

Full Time (36 hrs/wk)

Due to retirement of the current manager, we are seeking a dynamic, proactive person to manage The Sternberg Centre for Judaism, a busy and diverse Estate.

You will:

  • Be responsible for facilities and building management which includes a 1723 Grade II listed building
  • Take responsibility for utilities and other on-site service providers
  • Develop and manage a budget
  • Manage security, emergencies, health and safety
  • Manage new and existing lettings, including lease renewals
  • Report to the Chair of the Manor House Trust

 

You will be:

  • A self-starter, who is able to work unsupervised and happy to work flexibly to manage the plethora of requests and demands from our tenants
  • Diplomatic; able to deal with a diverse group of stakeholders and external organisations
  • Proactive in identifying and make process efficiencies and monetary savings
  • Able to manage a small team (Caretaker and Gardener)
  • Able to turn their hand to minor emergencies; plumbing, heating and electrical
  • Able to work occasional weekend or evenings if required and to attend for out of hours emergencies
  • Have an excellent command of the English Language
