Kivunim (directions) is our National B’nei Mitzvah programme for young people from our small and medium sized communities in years 7 & 8.

This programme brings young people together from our across the UK building strong year group cohorts. We have Kivunim communities from as far south as Cornwall to as far north as Glasgow, ready for you to join as you go through your B’nei Mitzvah preparation process and beyond!

Kivunim has 6 main topics of learning. The 4 residential weekends spread over the 2 year programme will focus around these topics.

  1. Jewish Identity (year 7)
  2. Tikkun Olam (year 7)
  3. Community (ongoing)
  4. Jewish Ritual (ongoing)
  5. Informed decision making (Year 8)
  6. My life as a Jewish adult (& leadership) (Year 8)

The residential weekends In November and April each year include exciting outdoor adventure activities such as climbing, kayaking and archery. As well as Shabbat celebrations and making life-long friends.

The Kivunim App is used to log the 150 points ‘footprints’ needed to complete the programme. Points can be earned by attending synagogue, practising for ceremony, volunteering, working on a tikkun olam project, celebrating festivals and learning a new skill.

This opportunity is open to all members of participating Reform Judaism communities – find out if your synagogue is involved!
