Rest and connect. Learn and reveal. Renew and explore. Join us in the Welsh mountains for an intimate Shavuot hosted by Ya’ad 2019, Reform Judaism’s leadership course for young adults. We’ll envision our dream communities and learn from each other, alongside hiking, relaxing, and a tikkun leil (learning evening) for Shavuot. There’s a lake for swimming, a wood-fired hot tub, and delicious vegan food. And yes, there will be cheesecake. Sign up closes on 31 May but there are only a couple of spaces left.

Timing: Please arrive for 7PM on 7 June. The retreat will finish 9 June at 2:30PM.

Images of Cae Mabon

Location: Cae Mabon, Fachwen, Caernarfon LL55 3HB. In an oak forest clearing… by a rushing river… near the lake… at the foot of Snowdon… is the Cae Mabon Eco-Retreat Centre. At its heart is a thatched Celtic roundhouse, home to many convivial evenings of fireside story and song. Circling this hub-hearth is a family of seven elegant dwellings made from strawbales, cedar logs, cob, stone, thatch, turf, timber and hempcrete area.

Getting there: You can drive, or take the train to Bangor. From Bangor, it’s about a 25 minute taxi ride. The last bit of the drive is narrow and windy. Access to the site is down several stairs, so rolling suitcases are not ideal! We are welcoming participants from across the UK and are happy to be in touch about the best trains from your city and are able to put you in touch with other participants from your local area who may be driving.

Click here for more information on how to get there.

Trains: Suggested train from London: 14:10 from London Euston arriving in Bangor at 17:37. Suggested train back to London: 15:08 from Bangor, arriving in London Euston at 19:02. Suggested train from Manchester: Departing 14:55, arriving in Bangor at 17:37. Suggested train back to Manchester: Departing 15:08 from Bangor, arriving in Manchester at 17:40. We are welcoming participants from across the UK and are happy to be in touch about the best trains from your city and are able to put you in touch with other participants from your local area.

Who: We are expecting 20-25 progressive young adults from across the UK who are leaders in the communities or interested in moving into leadership. There are five tickets left, so sign up soon.
Extending your stay: You are welcome to stay longer at Cae Mabon after the retreat – the cost is £20 per night and you will be responsible for your own food and welfare. Be in touch if you’d like to explore this option.

Cost: If cost is a barrier, please do get in touch as we have a limited amount of bursaries available.
