Shirei Chagigah is absolutely about singing, about being together, creating community and learning new melodies but that’s not all. Shirei Chagigah is an opportunity to relax, enjoy, be spiritually uplifted, learn how to compose, study the history and development of music in our services and further develop as the service leader or choir leader you’ve always wanted to be. Rabbi Ken Chasen is senior rabbi at Leo Baeck Temple, Los Angeles where he also leads the Friday Night Lift Off group. A band of professional musicians who bring creativity and joy to services.  Ken is also the co-author of two books which guide Jewish families in the creation of Jewish rituals in the home. In addition, he is a nationally recognized composer whose original works are regularly heard in synagogues and religious schools across North
