Northern Chagigah is where all of our northern communities meet together for a weekend of relaxation, learning, praying and fun. Based near Easingwold, 17 miles north of York, we have exclusive use of a gorgeous conference centre with extensive grounds.

Everyone comes for different reasons – to be spiritually recharged, to enjoy a Shabbat away from everyday routine, to be delighted that the children are being looked after and Jewishly engaged by RSY-Netzer or the creche (if they’re under 5), for the learning experiences or just for a lovely weekend where your meals are cooked for you and you can completely relax, unwind and switch off. (We have even heard rumours that some people come just for the evenings in the bar with new friends and lazy mornings in bed!)

Northern Chagigah is all about what YOU want. Whether it’s to be up at the crack of dawn leading a run around the grounds, tackling Talmud, having a good sing in a Shabbat service or enjoying a lie in and joining for lunch, it’s completely up to you. Here is the draft programme
We will also be joined remotely by Physicians for Human Rights and Tebeka, both winners of New Israel Fund’s  Humanitarian Awards.

If you are in a leadership position in your community there will also be plenty of opportunities for networking – meeting other board members, youth leaders, cheder teachers, treasurers so you can share ideas and get support from each other.

RSY-Netzer will be running youth programmes with Netzafon* so all children are very well catered for – or if you prefer they are more than welcome to come to sessions with you.

Book here!The practical info… This is a simply gorgeous fantastic conference venue that we have exclusive use of, there is of course a downside which we feel is worth it. All but 10 rooms have a double bed. There are 10 twin rooms. If you have one child they will be on an air mattress in your room and if you have two children they will be in the bedroom next door to you (if you have more we will work it out!) If you have children who are not happy sharing a bed there are loads of options – one can be on an air bed or they can mix it up and share with friends. An exciting sleepover!

There is a single occupancy charge but Reform Judaism have absorbed most of the cost because we don’t think it’s fair.

Finally. We absolutely believe that EVERYONE should be able to join all Reform Judaism events and cost should NEVER be a barrier.
