WHAT IS IT?

A day of learning, inspiration and practical tips for teachers – brought to you by Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers, the Northern Learning House and Menorah Synagogue.

We have a programme of talks and activities that will suit all who enjoy finding new ways of looking at their Judaism, and passing that knowledge onto others, be they young or grown up!

Although the day is for cheder teachers and Northern Learning House students, we also hope the day will be a Northern Learning House showcase, and we invite all northern communities members who want to sample what we have to offer.

The day includes:

  • Keith Kahn-Harris from Leo Baeck College speaking on The Sunderland Conundrum – why are Jews moving closer together? and What We Don’t Know About British Jews
  • Jo-Ann Myers from Leo Baeck College speaking on Israeli society through the lens of hip-hop, and Understanding and Implementing Differentiation and Learning for all in our Classrooms
  • Rabbi Robyn Ashworth-Steen will be helping you find sources and resources for service leading and teaching.

Participants are also warmly welcome to ARK’s session hosting JSense and b’nei mitzvah activities.

The full programme is available to view below. For questions please contact sherryashworth1@aol.com
