In the event of the community being subjected to a major incident, be it a terror attack, natural disaster or accident, early support by Psychological First Aiders can be the most important step to help those affected bounce back and not require further psychological intervention.
Those who attend the training will be asked to join CST’s Psychological Response Team, which in the unlikely event of a major incident, would be called upon to assist those people affected.
The training will be run by Dr. Nikki Scheiner, CST’s lead on psychological response, and CST’s National Crisis Management Coordinator and will involve lectures, discussions and scenarios. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
