It was with great sadness that the Alyth Choral Society (ACS) learned of Raymond Goldman’s death. In view of his long association with ACS the committee decided to honour him by dedicating their next concert to his memory.
Raymond helped found the Society, in which his resonant bass voice was greatly valued. In 1989 he joined the committee, on which he worked for 23 years. He had particular responsibility for orchestral liaison and for three years served as the ACS Chair. In July 2012, prior to his departure to live in Israel, he was appointed Honorary Life Member of ACS.
The Society’s performance of “Le Roi David” by Honegger, with orchestra and soloists, will be taking place at Alyth Synagogue at 7.00pm on Sunday 9 July. Tickets are £15 and are available at the Alyth Choral Society website.
