This year’s Vivian Solomon Memorial Lecture at Sha’arei Tsedek: North London Reform Synagogue will be delivered by Emeritus Rabbi Colin Eimer. “Plucking Fruit from The Tree of Life: nearly 50 years of being a Rabbi and reacting to the Torah in my life”. Rabbi Eimer’s lecture will feature learnings, pictures and experiences from his life and career as a Rabbi.
The Vivian Solomon Memorial Lecture is named after the much-loved and widely-respected former chairman of the synagogue. In his later years, Vivian Solomon acquired a formal qualification as a sofer or scribe of traditional Hebrew scriptural texts, and the annual lecture established in his memory explores topics relating to Torah, Bible and Scripture, as well as the scribal arts and calligraphy.
