EHRS wins major interfaith award for its Iftar

Edgware and Hendon Reform Synagogue (EHRS) has won a prestigious interfaith award for an Iftar held in the shul.

The community were honoured at the first ever Camden Faith & Belief Awards, as part of the Faiths Forum for London winning team in the category of Building Connected Communities and Neighbourhoods

The Forum organised a series of interfaith Ramadan meals around London, and beyond, with more than 500 attendees. The judges praised EHRS and the other Iftar hosts for “holding events that, for many, have been the first or only interfaith meeting since the recent outbreak of conflict in the Middle East.”

Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers of EHRS was part of the Faiths Forum for London team collecting the prize.

The awards were organised by Camden’s Interfaith Network, in partnership with The Faith & Belief Forum, in order to shine a light on the vital work of local voluntary, community and faith organisations.

Other Jewish winners included Mitzvah Day CEO Stuart Diamond and the JW3 Foodbank.
