Choref (Winter Camp) Support Worker RSY-Netzer

Summary of role:  to work with the madrichimot (leaders) to support one chanichol (participant) to promote their integration and maximise their benefits from camp

Dates:  30th December 2021 – 2nd January 2022 inclusive, plus pre-camp training (approx. ½ day – date to be confirmed)

Salary:  £300

Accountabilities

Accountable to:              Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer

Liaisons:                       

  • Movement Workers
  • Shemesh Rashim (Heads of Camp) and tzevet (staff team)
  • Chanichimot (participants)    
  • Medic on camp         
  • Head of Safeguarding and Wellbeing
                                                 

Job Purpose

  • To enable the chanichol (participant) to participate in Choref in a meaningful way, educationally, socially and to enjoy themselves.
  • To ensure the chanichol’s safety and wellbeing, meeting their varied needs, empowering the leaders to deliver an inclusive camp experience.

Responsibilities Before Choref

  • Under-go training about the role, RSY-Netzer and expectations of the role
  • Meet and liaise with the RSY-Netzer Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer, and with the chanichol and their parents to understand their needs
  • Meet with the senior Tzevet (staff team) and the RSY-Netzer Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer to agree protocol for working together

On Choref

  • To develop and maintain a positive relationship with the team and chanichol, to enable them to integrate socially and with the tochnit (programme)
  • Balancing the need for support and allowing the chanichol to develop their independence and social integration
  • Maintain records as needed using CPOMS, online recording system
  • Maintaining confidentiality whilst ensuring that those who need information to fulfil their roles have this available

Post Choref

  • Ensure all relevant information is recorded electronically
  • Debrief and review the role with the Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer
