Bournemouth Reform Celebrates 75th Year

Marie van der Zyl, President of the Board of Deputies, visited Bournemouth Reform Synagogue in order to launch the 75th Anniversary of the Reform Synagogue.

She remarked on the warm welcome that she had received and how pleased she had been to meet and discuss with leaders of the different Synagogues and other Faith Groups. From this she perceived that Bournemouth Jewry “punched above its weight!”

Following the official opening of the Anniversary Year, in ‘An Evening with Marie van der Zyl’, Rabbi Michaels interviewed the Board President about the organisation, her role and key achievements, and her ambitions and objectives for the remainder of her term of office.

Guests at the event included the Mayors of Bournemouth and Christchurch and other BCP community leaders of a variety of faiths.
