A musical evening at Mosaic
The night club scene came to the Mosaic community in Harrow on Sunday January 25th as Jane Prentice explains.
A sell-out audience of 150 enjoyed the huge musical repertoire and brilliant singing voice of Holly Holyoake.
Music from Puccini to the Barbra Streisand’s version of Avinu Malkeinu and Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights plus hit numbers from the West End lit up the evening entitled “From Bohème to Broadway”. Holly, who is known for the range of her voice and variety of her musical styles, kept the audience enraptured for an hour and half.
The excellence of supporting act “Harmonica Too”, Mosaic member Gary Italiaander and friend Steve Fordington, balanced the evening with their highly entertaining set on keyboards and several different harmonicas interspersed with harmonica anecdotes, jazz and Big Band tunes.
Master of Ceremonies Maryvn Ellison and a buffet dinner provided by many dedicated Mosaic volunteers completed the very successful evening.
