Liverpool Reform Synagogue were delighted to honour their Emeritus Rabbi Norman Zalud, who turned 90 years young on Yom Kippur.

Rabbi Zalud was overwhelmed to have representatives from communities he has previously served come to join the celebrations and receive his certificate from The Movement for Reform Judaism.

Rabbi Norman’s history is remarkable following stints at Jacksons Row, Cheshire Reform, Blackpool, Southport, Shaarei Shalom Communities as well as Liverpool, and he was overcome by the special presentation.

“My personal motto has always been ‘Have Prayer Book will Travel’ and I think I’ve lived up to that,” he said with his usual smile. “To see so many people who’ve come from far and wide to celebrate with me has been simply wonderful,” he added.

The Reform Movement wishes Rabbi Norman ‘Ad me’ah ve’esrim.’ May you live ’till 120!
