Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, Senior Rabbi to Reform Judaism has spoken following the publication of CST’s Antisemitic Incidents Report 2016.
“The statistics on anti-Semitic incidents in 2016 show an unacceptable rise. This is concerning; we must have a zero tolerance approach and hatred must be challenged at every opportunity.
“I believe in Britain and that most British people reject anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred. Any rise in anti-Semitism is cause for concern and racism and fascism remain a reality, but it is important to note that overall the figures are low; the day to day experiences of the vast majority of our community are overwhelmingly positive. The United Kingdom continues to be a place where Jewish life thrives.
“We remain vigilant and uncompromising in our rejection of hatred in all forms”.
