| Reform guests show commitment to youth |

The theme of ‘touching lives today for a brighter Jewish tomorrow’ made a significant impression on guests at the Reform Movement Annual Dinner, held at Lords Cricket Ground last week, with guests pledging over £200,000 – the highest amount ever raised at a Reform Movement event.
At this year’s event the platform was given over to younger members of the Movement and of RSY-Netzer, whose lives have been touched by Reform Movement initiatives for youth, students and young adults.
One guest, Jennie King, a 16 year old member of Finchley Reform Synagogue performed a self-penned rap that had people clapping in time as she rejoiced about the egalitarian principles of Reform Judaism – “Phew! What a coup… we’re egalitarian!” Another, student Rabbi David Mitchell, spoke passionately about his personal journey from growing up in the Orthodox world, to finding a spiritual home in Reform Judaism as a gay man.
