With effect from January 1st 2007, Miriam Kramer succeeded Professor Graham Zellick to be appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of Leo Baeck College.
Miriam Kramer commented, ‘I am honoured to be so intimately involved with such an outstanding organisation, and look forward to working with the whole College community in building on its strength. Leo Baeck College has an illustrious history and, with its new principal Rabbi Professor Marc Saperstein, a promising future.’ Mrs Kramer is a freelance journalist specialising in art and antiques; she is married to a judge and has an adult daughter and son.

Mrs Kramer is a member of Wimbledon and District Synagogue where she has been chairman of the Education Committee, Senior Warden and Chairman. From 2004 until the end of 2006 she chaired the co-ordinating committee which devised and organised events to mark the 50th Anniversary, in 2006, of the founding of Leo Baeck College and of the death of Rabbi Dr Leo Baeck.
