One sunny, summer's day in July, 2007 the telephone rang and I was invited to consider filling the interim post of Director of Education in Leo Baeck's Department of Education and Professional Development until the end of September, 2008, following the resignation of Helena Miller and pending appointment of the permanent post in. It was, as they say, 'an offer I could not refuse!'

The Three Faiths Forum are currently involved in a number of initiatives including extending the 'Tools 4Trialogue' programme to Israel, the International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ) Conference in Jerusalem this June, the Global Day for Darfur later this month and an event on training for trialogue in Manchester.

Bright sunshine came north when Menorah Synagogue (Cheshire Reform Congregation) laid the foundation stone of its new shul building on Sunday 30th March.

The Movement for Reform Judaism is undertaking a new initiative to boost the incredible youth work that is already being delivered by Reform synagogues across the country."We need to support our synagogues by providing useful guidelines and advice on how to run safe, quality youth provision" said Jon Littman, the Reform Movement's youth and community worker. "They often carry on under extraordinary circumstances and are sometimes unsure of where to get information on how to improve or develop what they have."

Youth from Sinai synagogue (Leeds) lifted the cup to claim victory in the 3rd RSY-Netzer National Inter-Club Purim Spiel-off Competition on Saturday 8th March, after winning with a hilarious adaptation of the Purim story into a Shakespearean comedy.
