siddureducation‘An extremely useful session’
‘The new Siddur is beautiful and exceeding expectations – will be useful at home as well as in synagogues’
‘Very beneficial workshop to go with a fantastic new Siddur
‘Thank you for an excellent morning’
‘Slick, interesting and well produced in the given time’
‘One of the best sessions I’ve attended, the booklet is an outstanding resource’

siddureducation2These are extracts of the feedback from the first Siddur Education Workshop that was held at the Sternberg Centre on June 8th.  Some 50 people representing 13 synagogues and RSY Netzer participated in the workshop led by student Rabbi Danny Burkeman (pictured below) and were introduced to the wonderful teaching materials he has produced to help communities become familiar with and to love their new Siddurim.

siddureducation4The materials are useful for lay service leaders, wardens, Cheder teachers, B’nei Mitzvah teachers, adult education programmers as well as interested congregants. Everyone was given a copy of Danny’s booklet ‘Leading a Community in Prayer’ and the response was very enthusiastic.

There are further workshops in the North West, in Leeds, Glasgow, Finchley and again at the Sternberg Centre in the coming days. If you or your community want to know more, please contact the Siddur Education Project leader, Judy Plaut. If your community would like to book its own workshop, please get in touch.
