formsofprayerAbout seven years ago, as a student at Leo Baeck College, I chose to research the development of our prayer book, Forms of Prayer, from its first edition in 1841 to the present (seventh) edition that we use today. I managed to get hold of a copy of each of the seven editions and trace various aspects of liturgical innovation across a century and a half of British Reform Judaism.

siddur_launch2Our new Siddur, 'Forms of Prayer' has arrived at last. Distribution to communities has already begun and a formal presentation was made to members of the Assembly of Rabbis on Tuesday 13th May who celebrated with champagne and song.

siddurlaunch1Rabbi Professor Jonathan Magonet is the Editor of our new Siddur, published this month. Now nearing the end of an 8 year long process, Rabbi Magonet has penned a series of short 'jottings' relating to different aspects of this groundbreaking publication.
