The Three Faiths Forum are offering the chance for Christian, Muslim and Jewish students who will be in their second year next year, the opportunity to be mentored by leading MPs from October 2008 to June 2009.
The Undergraduate ParliaMentors Programme (UP) is an initiative aiming to nurture future politicians and community leaders from the three Abrahamic Faiths. Nine MPs from all three major parties will each mentor a group of three students - one Christian, one Jewish and one Muslim - meeting with them on a monthly basis. With advice from their mentors, students develop projects focussing on themes such as political engagement and identity, whilst supported by key political NGOs and think tanks. We are now in the second year of the programme, and the pilot proved to be an exciting and highly rewarding experience for this year’s participants. Anyone who is interested can contact Stephen Shashoua directly, speak to Daniella Gabay or go to the Three Faiths Forum Youth and Education Division website.
