Festive fun at RSY-Netzer’s Choref winter camp

RSY-Netzer’s Choref winter camp was, without a doubt, a resounding success.

Participants had a whale of a time bringing the festive cheer to camp through Chanukiah lightings each night and Chanukah-themed peulot (activities).

Highlights ranged from an incredible big kef (fun) activity on the last night with a silent disco and laser tag to the creation of a ‘brave space’ where the attendees felt able to share their views on the conflict in Israel/Gaza and experience lots of perspectives that may be different from their own.

Educational peulot included sessions on the Israeli Declaration of Independence, Israeli Elections, different organisations working for peace, and on Israeli and Palestinian culture.

Choref also saw RSY’s second Course Hadracha event which introduced the madatzimot (trainee leaders) to more leadership theories, a deep dive into RSY’s ideological pillars, and lots of fun activities.

Most excitingly, the madatzimot got their first chance to lead on an RSY event, writing and leading some incredible Chanukah-themed activities for Kerach (year 7-9).

The RSY’s Movement Workers said: “We can’t wait to see you on our Shemesh 5785 summer camp for more singing, chanting, learning and kef!”
