Gateway to Judaism: for anyone on a Jewish Journey Print E-mail
Written by Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner
Thursday, 29 March 2007

An invitation: You are invited to join Rabbi Laura in a dynamic course that provides an open Gateway To Judaism.

For me? This course is designed for Jews wanting to learn more to deepen their Jewish journey; for those converting to Judaism and non-Jewish partners of Jews who would just like to learn more Judaism.

What will we study? The evening begins with Hebrew and then focuses upon Judaism. We study the Jewish year, lifecycle, history, Holocaust, Israel, synagogue, setting up a Jewish home, Jewish texts and much MORE…

How will we learn? The style of learning is upbeat, non-judgemental and makes no assumptions about background or future expectations of observance.  We will listen to each other; discuss together; laugh and learn. We will also support each other in upholding differences. We plan to experience different Jewish ideas and events rather than just learn about them from a distance.

Can I join at any time? Our Gateway to Judaism course is a “rolling course” so you are invited to join at any time and we will provide the necessary information so you are involved straightaway.

Everyone is welcome - we would love to include anyone who is interested in Judaism.

When? Wednesday evenings at Alyth from 20.00-22.15.

Who do I talk to about this? For any questions about the course, please either call Rabbi Laura on 8883 6466 or email her on laura@alyth.org.uk
