Cantor Joseph Toltz from Sydney, Australia is coming to London in the hope of interviewing musically involved Shoah surviviors as part of an academic study. He would like to speak to people and transcribe important music before it is too late. All discussions will be handled in a sensitive manner. These days it seems that young people are portrayed as hooded miscreants, knife wielding yobs or drunken louts. Every news item about youth seems to focus on their bad deeds and accusations of wild behaviour. For those involved in community youth provision, we know that this image is often at odds with what we experience on a weekly basis.

Rabbi Dr Michael Shire, Vice-Principal of Leo Baeck College, will take over executive responsibility as Director of the College’s Department of Education from 1st October. Jo-Ann Myers will become Head of the Department, responsible for operations and management.
