Pets - 2007/10/02 14:54 Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site, because I have a question I thought i'd post here rather than the newbie bit of the forum.
This might sound quite naive but... Do animals go to heaven?
My pet bird died suddenly, early this year and i've been devastated, I would love to think that i will see him again. But my Catholic friend said that animals have no soul and therefore don't go to heaven. What does Judaism say about this topic?

Re:Pets - 2007/10/28 15:33 In Judaism there is no real set view about what the afterlife consists of. It has always been a faith that has concentrated on living in the hear and now and so the answer is - I don't know if animals go to heaven. There seems no reason why they would not.

There is a concept called "Rainbow Bridge" which may help - it's a bit "sugary" if u know what I mean but it helped me when my dog died. http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm
