Suggestions for a Haggadah - 2008/02/27 23:56 Does anyone have a suggstion for a suitable Haggadah for our family seder.

So far we've been using our venerable Children's Haggadahs or is that Haggadot? I find the contents a bit traditional and the translation a bit stilted.

Our boys are now 16 and 18, and their grandparents join us for the seder, so we do need a mix of the familiar with something more contemporary.

Also my hebrew is poor so transliteration could help.

Thanks in advance.

Re:Suggestions for a Haggadah - 2008/04/01 01:05 An Ideal Haggadah for you might be 'A Night to Remember: Haggadah of Contemporary voices' by Noam Zion. Excellent resource book, but structured as a haggadah. It includes all the basic songs, story and instructions in English, hebrew and most with Transliteration. But the best parts are that it brings the seder into contemporary discussions and that the format for the book is very accessible. Ideal for families. He's also co-authored 'A different night' which I know is popular, but I haven't read before.

Here's a link for purchasing it on Amazon, but i'm sure many places sell it, the author teaches at the Hartman Institute in Jerusalem:

Hope your Seder works out.
