JULIA MARKSON has been a Reform Jew all her life and grew up at Wimbledon, where she became involved with the Youth Club and taught at Cheder.
She was active within YASGB, and it was there that she met and made many life-long friends – including Julian, whom she married. She then joined West London when she made the trip north of the river after her wedding, where she taught at religion school for 14 years. At this time she sat on the Education Committee as well as on the Burial Committee. Julia has served several terms on West London Council and was a warden for three years, during which time she was also on the Management Board. She has been a WLS representative on the Movement for Reform Judaism Council for many years. She is currently Chair of the Membership Committee.
Julia has spent much of her working life at Markson Pianos, and more recently at the British Friends of the Hebrew University. She now freelances as a PA. She and Julian, who has also been involved in YASGBN and at West London, have two daughters, one lives in West Hampstead and the other in Sydney.
